This is a series of posts I want to do highlighting folks I see live (usually at Open Mics). These are people earning their fame one performance at a time!
I’ve seen these folks at the Tuesday night (sometimes Friday) open mic at Angelica’s Bistro in Redwood City, CA.
- Nkechi – “Astral Soul Songtress, Alternative Singer/Songwriter”
- Merrady – Acoustic/Indie – sounds like Feist
- Veronica Malki – a regular, with an amazing voice.
- Shawn Evans – great original songs, up-tempo guitar playing, and really funky vocals. Check out the video of his performance with the full band on May 22, 2009
- Bob Fruhlinger – blues, soul, rock, folk. This guy makes playing music look easy, and yet it comes out with soul. Blessed to see him perform at the open mic!
- TracyShaun – A coworker and friend, but truly an amazing songwriter, singer and guitar player. Another one of those “makes it look easy” guys… Be sure to catch his live shows (currently at 7pm Pacific on Wednesdays) on UStream. You’ll be hearing more about Tracy here at Beat Slacker!
